About the RSV The JP Remote Support Vehicle (RSV) is a light, remotely controlled robotic vehicle.
Originally developed for use for allowing unmanned access in hazardous mining operations, it is easily adapted for applications in many different sections of industry–making it the world's first lightweight, affordable multi-payload Remote Surveying Vehicle.
James Jobling-Purser developed the RSV as a research project while studying at the Camborne School of Mines. A concept model of the vehicle was constructed to test the theory behind the RSV. Issues in the vehicle's performance highlighted during this testing phase were addressed in the redesign of the prototype. The prototype was then constructed and tested to optimize the vehicle's performance. The vehicle was also tested with different manufacturers surveying equipment. This allowed the optimization of different software and hardware available on the machine.
The RSV has been designed to evolve with customers' requirements and payloads to make a vehicle that is specific for a client's needs.
