About the RSV Fast, safe, robust and light: The JP Remote Support Vehicle (RSV) is a light, remotely controlled robotic vehicle.
Designed for use in underground mining operations to improve efficiency in mine surveying and reduce the risk to the survey operator, the RSV combines state-of-the-art laser scanning instrumentation with wireless communications and advanced robotic technology. With the ability to scan up to 700m in one day, it dramatically increases the speed of data capture and improves the range and coverage of measurements. All this while safeguarding survey personnel.
The RSV makes surveying faster, safer and more cost-effective. The scanning process is up to ten times quicker than traditional 2D processes. The data can be imported straight into mine development software, and can be used to enhance independent compliant resource estimates. Stope volumes can be easily determined from the 3D data. Mine plans can be upgraded from 2D to 3D without the need for expensive, time-consuming digitalisations of hand-drawn plans.
